Privacy Policy

1. Free local processing
Single-photo background removal in free local mode runs in your browser. The photo is not sent to our servers or to KIE. Your browser downloads the AI model and may cache model files for future use. The hosting service receives ordinary connection information when delivering the website and model files, but it does not receive your photo from local processing. Clearing browser storage can remove the model cache.
2. Cloud processing is optional
When you explicitly choose Cloud mode, your photo is uploaded so KIE can run Recraft background removal. We store the input and result in private Cloudflare R2 storage and provide download links that expire after one hour. Files in our storage are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours. This is our storage policy, not a promise that KIE deletes its copies at the same time.
3. KIE retention
KIE’s official API documentation states that generated media is retained for 14 days and task text or metadata logs for 2 months. Its general website privacy policy does not fully explain retention of every API input or whether API content is used for training. We do not claim zero retention or no training by KIE. Use local mode for photos you do not want sent to a processing provider. Review KIE’s current policies before choosing Cloud mode.
4. Account and purchase information
If you create an account, we process your name, email address, session information and a password hash if you use email login. Google sign-in shares the profile information you approve. We keep subscription status, credit transactions and Cloud job status to provide paid features, reconcile charges and investigate failures. Stripe processes payment details; we do not store your full card number.
5. Service providers
Cloudflare provides hosting, security, model delivery, private file storage and service email. Neon hosts account, job and credit records. KIE processes photos only when you choose Cloud mode, using Recraft. Stripe handles payments. Google provides optional sign-in and, when configured and allowed by our regional privacy controls, analytics. Each provider processes the data needed for its role under its own terms.
6. Browser storage and analytics
Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect sign-in flows. Browser storage may hold interface preferences and cached model files. Visit-source data may be stored for up to 90 days where permitted by the site’s regional privacy controls, and may accompany checkout metadata. Analytics, when enabled, receive page and feature events rather than your photo pixels. We do not send photo files to analytics. You can clear browser storage; doing so may sign you out and require the model to download again.
When configured, Google Analytics does not load for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, for an unknown country, or when the browser sends Global Privacy Control. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Its browser cookie lifetime is about 13 months. Page addresses sent to analytics omit query parameters and fragments; external referral addresses are reduced to their origin. Automatic form and file-download measurement is disabled. Product events use coarse counts and categories, without photo names or EXIF.
7. Retention and deletion
Local photo data remains on your device. Cloud files in our storage are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours, and Cloud job records are retained for up to 90 days. Account and billing records are retained while needed to provide the service, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. Our providers may have separate retention periods, including the KIE periods described above. Contact support for access, correction or deletion requests.
Deleting an account cancels its active subscriptions and removes unused credits. We retain a limited billing reconciliation record for up to 24 months after the deletion request, including internal identifiers, payment amounts, invoice and refund references, and cancellation status. It does not contain your photos, password, email address or full card details. Deletion does not automatically issue a refund. A failed billing safety check stops account deletion and requires a retry or support review.
8. International processing and rights
Our providers may process data outside your country. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete or restrict use of your personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority. Contact support to exercise those rights. We use your data to provide the requested service, meet legal obligations and maintain security, with consent where required for optional features.
9. Security and children
We use account authorization, private storage and expiring links to limit access. No service can guarantee perfect security. Do not submit highly sensitive information to Cloud mode. The service is not directed at children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.
