Licenses and Acknowledgments
Last updated October 23, 2026. These terms describe WhiteBackground.app. Questions: support@whitebackground.app.
Your images
You retain your existing rights in the photos you edit. You may use exports commercially when you have the necessary rights in the original content. Processing does not create permission to use someone else’s copyrighted work, trademark or likeness.
Plain white backgrounds
The blank #FFFFFF files and custom-size white images provided by this site are free for personal and commercial use, with no attribution required.
Background-removal model
Local processing uses BEN2, whose upstream repository publishes the code under the MIT license. Model files and accompanying notices remain subject to their distributed terms. The local inference library, Transformers.js, is distributed under Apache-2.0. These projects are independent of WhiteBackground.app.
Other dependencies
The application includes open-source dependencies with their own licenses. Their copyright and license notices are retained in the distribution and repository notices. The site’s commercial template license is preserved and does not grant permission to redistribute its source code.
Cloud services and trademarks
Optional Cloud processing uses Recraft through KIE, subject to those providers’ terms. Marketplace and service names are used only to describe presets or integrations. WhiteBackground.app is not sponsored, endorsed or operated by those companies.
Local product photo enhancement
The separate 2× enhancer uses SwinIR classical super-resolution, ONNX Runtime and Tesseract.js for local fine-text detection. Recognized text is used for locating regions, never for rewriting lettering into your photo. Complete distributed notices are available in the enhancer license bundle. Upstream sources: SwinIR and Tesseract.js.
