Window light or a diffused lamp helps avoid harsh shadows. Keep the whole object in focus so fine edges remain visible.
Leave a little space around the subject, but avoid photographing it from too far away. A small subject in a large image does not have enough detail for a large export. We do not enlarge small photos.
Erase any stand or leftover shadow. If the AI removed a detail you wanted, use Restore to bring it back. The white background photo editor includes Undo and Redo.

The first use downloads an AI model of about 220 MB. Your browser caches it for later use, although clearing browser storage can remove the cache. Keep the tab open while processing.
On supported devices, review the edges and touch up with your finger. Choose JPG for a white background or PNG for white or transparent output, then save the downloaded file using your browser's download controls.
If your device cannot run the model, try Chrome or Edge on a computer. High quality is included with Pro and skips the model download.

Choose the right output
A white background gives your image a solid canvas for a listing, document or presentation. Choose JPG or PNG. For an empty canvas, download a plain white background image.
Transparency lets you place the subject over another design later. Export as PNG to preserve transparent pixels. JPG does not support transparency.
Good to know
Yes. Single-photo background removal, touch-ups and JPG or PNG exports up to 2200 px are free and unlimited. You do not need an account for local processing.
Choose a photo, let the browser remove its background, then pick a size and download it on white. Use the Erase and Restore brushes to correct the result before exporting.
The white canvas is #FFFFFF: RGB 255, 255, 255. A pure white check flags background issues before export. Fine subject edges can still include blended pixels, so inspect them and brush away any leftover background.
You can create a white backdrop, but that alone does not make an official ID photo. Check your issuing authority’s rules for background color, image size, head position, expression and permitted edits.
Choose Restore and brush over the missing detail to bring pixels back from the original photo. Use Undo if you need to reverse your last brush stroke.
